We consciously set ourselves a high standard with company-related initiatives such as consistent adherence to recognized compliance requirements, the ongoing review of our supply chains and the establishment of a binding code of conduct. We also passionately support regional biodiversity projects and invest in humanitarian aid projects in order to give something back to our society. The UN's globally recognized SDG measures, which were adopted in 2016, serve as an inspiring guide for our actions.

The Backstar paper base material comes from Swedish forests that are managed in an exemplary and sustainable manner. All the wood used is FSC-certified. The cellulose pulp is finely ground after harvesting and all stored oxygen is removed, resulting in high grease density and air impermeability. The wafer-thin protective coating applied to both sides completes the result.
The reusable baking paper is a natural product and is therefore biodegradable in home compost.

Biodiversity in Thurgau
Transitions in the landscape are particularly valuable because different habitats meet there on a small scale. For biodiversity purposes, hedges that have disappeared in Thurgau are being replanted so that endangered bird species such as the yellowhammer can be reintroduced. We support this project in the long term with the ecological improvement and targeted supplementation of hedges, copses, forest edges and their surroundings.
